Responsibilities of the GEADC
The GEADC, based on Article 58 of Law 5019/2023, has the following responsibilities:
- It prepares action plans for promoting and ensuring substantive equality and combating discrimination and social exclusion in research, educational, and administrative processes.
- It recommends measures to promote equality and combat discrimination and exclusion, address sexual harassment, and tackle all forms of harassing behavior.
- It monitors the implementation progress of the above measures and their results, and recommends modifications, revisions, or additions to them.
- It provides information and training to members of the research community on issues related to gender equality, combating all forms of discrimination and exclusion, addressing sexual harassment, and tackling all forms of harassing behavior.
- It promotes the conduct of seminars and lectures and supports the participation of the organization in research activities focusing on the study of gender, combating discrimination and exclusion, addressing sexual harassment, and tackling all forms of harassing behavior in the research environment. Additionally, it emphasizes the need to integrate gender-specific considerations into the design and implementation of research, promote innovation, and create an inclusive research and work environment in research and technological institutions.
- It promotes the development of studies and research related to issues within its area of responsibility.
- It contributes to the development of mechanisms for receiving, recording, and managing reports and complaints regarding incidents of discriminatory treatment, harassment, or exclusion.
